The HIV / STD / Hepatitis Division of the Madison County Health Department provides the following services:

HEPATITIS A 

OUTBREAK

Since September 2018, the Madison County Health Department (MCHD) has been investigating an outbreak of acute hepatitis A virus (HAV).

 

Cases have been infected with HAV strains genetically linked to outbreaks across the United States. Indiana has an average of 20 cases of hepatitis A per 12 month period. While Madison County averages 1-2 cases per 12 month period, currently there are 31 confirmed cases. Madison County is one of several counties experiencing a hepatitis A outbreak, and outbreak-related cases have been confirmed across the state.

Appointments recommended for individuals testing for HIV only
 

OraQuick Advance Rapid screens are available - fingerstick blood sample or cheek swab
 

Results in 20 minutes
 

Reactive results followed with confirmatory testing

STD CLINIC

APPOINTMENT ONLY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
 

Exams offered by a nurse practitioner for symptomatic individuals
 

Lab testing for gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, HIV, and Hepatitis C
 

Medication may be provided during clinic visit if specific symptoms are present, or if sex partner has confirmed STD condition (paperwork is required for all partner treatments)
